Prof. CHEN Chin-Tu, an internationally-renowned physicist in medical physics from the University of Chicago, was honored as the Guest Scientist of the Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP) during his

Prof. CHEN is an associate professor with the Committee on Medical Physics and the Department of Radiology of the University of Chicago. He focuses mainly on the research of functional and physiological imaging, molecular imaging, PET/CT, SPECT/CT, multi-modality imaging and image integration, quantitative image analysis, nuclear medicine imaging and image reconstruction. He has published more than 250 scientific papers.

Prof. Chen has visited IHEP for several times and has good collaboration with IHEP X-ray Imaging Laboratory. During his recent trip, Dr. WEI Long, Associate Director of IHEP introduced to him on the IHEP’s achievements in X-ray imaging technology and the developing plans for the future. Dr. WANG Yifang, IHEP Director, met with Prof. CHEN as well and they had extended discussions over the developments of X-ray imaging technology and the cooperation between IHEP and the University of Chicago.

Prof. CHEN spoke highly of IHEP's research efforts in X-ray imaging research, he expressed his willingness to further promote the cooperation and to encourage talent exchanges between IHEP and the University of Chicago.
