Experts from IHEP and IMP were invited and an expert panel was set up for the acceptance test. After a detailed review on site and exchanges with the scientists and engineers involved, the panel reached a unanimous agreement that the CSNS Neutron experimental prototypes meet with the design requirements.
The 2D position-sensitive area detector based on 3He detector is one of the key CSNS R&D components. The detector consists of forty 3He filled 100cm×2.5cm Linear Position Sensitive Detectors (LPSD), every eight LPSDs being assembled to one detective module. Through the studies on the important parameters such as detection efficiency, background noise, geometry construction, radiation background, electronic system, and DAQ system, the research team gained experience in developing
the Electronics System and Data Acquisition System (DAQ) |
Electronics System and Data Acquisition System (DAQ) are important components of the neutron spectrometer. After the test, the experts concluded that the electronics prototype was designed with low noise and high accuracy, pipelined parallel working mode among each channel accelerated the processing speed, designed as a distributed architecture the DAQ prototype fully fulfilled the requirements of the whole system and its software was stable and reliable.
