Mr. Daniel Neuenschwander, Director of the Swiss Space Office (SSO) visited the Institute of High Energy Physics on 

both sides explore the future cooperation

Prof. ZHANG Shuangnan, Director of the Division for Particle Astrophysics of IHEP extended his warm welcome to the Swiss guest. Prof. ZHANG made a brief introduction on the scientific activities at his division and IHEP.

Mr. Daniel Neuenschwander toured the loboratories of the division and spoke highly of the scientific achievements. Lengthy discussions were conducted over the possible scientific cooperation in the future in particle astrophysics field.

Swiss Space Office (SSO) is the national space program of the Switzerland and is the administrative body in charge of planning and implementing Swiss space policies after approval of the Swiss Federal Council.

In addition to the SSO, SER (State Secretariat for Education and Research)is also involved in the space programs, both SER and SSO are public organizations for space activities in Switzerland. Switzerland is a member of the European Space Agency, providing 3.30% of the ESA budget in 2005.
