September 2, at the Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP).

The experts listened to the design report, and conducted an on-site test, which proved that the parameters of the prototype agreed with or better than the original design specifications. The prototype research team has fully completed the R&D tasks concerning the prototype.

The CSNS timing system is a domain-wide control facility. The charged devices include ion source, linac RF, RCS RF, beam instrumentations, magnet power supplies, injection/extraction, and neutron spectrometer and so on. The timing system not only provides stable timing triggers and synchronizing clocks to these devices, but also releases the machine model and beam model-specific information.

After extended discussions, experts concluded that the CSNS timing system prototype is based on the event timing system and the central star architecture meets the requirements of the CSNS project.
