Dr. CHEN Hesheng, IHEP Director, extended his warm welcome to H.R.H. Princess Sirindhorn and introduced the upgraded Beijing Electron Positron Collider (BEPC II) and the IHEP’s current scientific activities.

H.R.H. Princess Sirindhorn visited BEPCII, BESIII control room and the Beijing Synchrotron Radiation Facility. While visiting these scientific facilities, Princess Sirindhorn showed great interest in the accelerator and in the synchrotron radiation studies, she raised many questions and had lengthy discussions with the scientists who accompanied her and gave her introductions.

It is said that the Princess has played an active role in promoting scientific activities in Thailand, the Thai synchrotron radiation facilities has been built with her strong support.
