Prof. B.D’Ettorre Piazzoli, the Italian spokesman for ARGO-YBJ experiment, delivered his opening remarks. 32 talks altogether were given at the meeting, which covered a wide range of topics including detector’s operation and performance, search for gamma-ray sources, top limit of the flux of antiproton in cosmic rays, measurement of the sun-earth magnetic field and the “knee” physics in cosmic rays, etc.
The experiment has published over ten papers so far, on which Dr. CAO Zhen, the Chinese spokesman for ARGO-YBJ experiment commented as the outstanding progress of the experiment. He further described research plans and publishing more papers this year. With the data statistics continuing to grow, it is expected that more convincing physics results would come out, proving the advantages of observing particle arrays at high-latitude.
