Introduction to IHEP

The Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP), a research institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, is the largest laboratory dedicated to particle physics research in China. IHEP is home to over 1,500 full-time employees and more than 900 postdocs and graduate students. As particle physics is a highly collaborative and international discipline, IHEP maintains partnerships and experimental collaborations with numerous universities and research institutions in China and around the world.

IHEP is constantly seeking outstanding scientists and engineers at all career stages to join us in exploring the mysteries of the universe. We offer both long-term and short-term opportunities across our world-class research programs, including high energy physics, particle astrophysics, computer science, cosmology, synchrotron radiation, and advanced accelerator physics. These positions provide a highly competitive funding package and salary.

About the event at CERN

This event provides an excellent opportunity to learn about career prospects at IHEP through short presentations from various IHEP divisions. Presentations will highlight available positions and research programs associated with the JUNO, BES, CEPC, CSNS, HEPS, LHAASO, AliCPT, eXTP, HERD, ATLAS, CMS, and LHCb experiments, as well as research opportunities in accelerators, computing, and other fields. A discussion session will follow, allowing attendees to ask questions and engage with representatives from IHEP.

Researchers and professionals from all CERN experiments and sectors are welcome to attend in person. Registration is free, and coffee and snacks will be provided during the break.

•Modern X-ray research at the High Energy Photon Source (HEPS), including Beamline Methodology and Instrumentation, Beamline Engineering, Control/Computing and Data Analysis, AI for X-ray Science

• Radiotherapy and nuclear medicine

•Applications of synchrotron radiation in Environmental science, Life science, Material science, and Nanoscience

•Positron annihilation spectroscopy and its application
