Tenure-track position on advanced calorimeter at the Institute of High Energy Physics, Beijing

The Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP), Chinese Academy of Science invites applications for a tenure-track position in its Experimental Physics Division. The successful candidate will carry out the R&D program in advanced calorimeters at circular colliders, and will lead IHEP’s participation in the CMS High Granularity Calorimeter upgrade project. He/she will be responsible for the design, tests of the CMS-HGC silicon modules, and establishing the production center in Beijing, and the commissioning of the CMS-HGC at CERN at a later stage.

The candidate is expected to hold a Ph.D. degree, has excellent profile on silicon tracking detector related hardware, and good communication skills. At least two years of postdoc training is required.

IHEP is a national lab and the premier high energy physics center in China. It is located in western Beijing with easy access to the city subway. IHEP hosts a number of high energy physics facilities such as the Beijing Electron-Positron Collider, Beijing Spectrometer, and Beijing Synchrotron Radiation Facility; the Yangbajing Cosmic Ray Observatory; the Daya Bay Reactor Neutrino Experiment; and space missions. There are also facilities under construction, such as the China Spallation Neutron Source, Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory, and Large High-Altitude Air Shower Observatory.
