Postdoctoral position on the ATLAS experiment

The High Energy Physics Institute (IHEP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing, China invites applications for a postdoctoral position on the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider.

The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the top-Higgs coupling measurement with ATLAS data and to participate in the ATLAS pixel Phase-II upgrade activities. The appointment will be initially for a period of two years, with the possibility of an extension. The successful candidate will be based in Beijing but it is possible to arrange periods of long-term attachment at CERN.

Applicants are required to have a PhD in physics by the time of appointment and should have in-depth research experience in experimental particle physics. Prior experience on pixel detectors is preferred but not required.

IHEP is a national lab and the premier high energy physics center in China. The institute hosts a Tier-2 Grid site and provides excellent computing resources and support to researchers. IHEP is located in western Beijing with easy access to the city subway and bus-lines to all areas of Beijing. Beijing is served by a modern airport and by high-speed trains to major Chinese cities and significant destinations. The city of Beijing offers rich historic sites, a great variety of cultural, culinary and entertainment opportunities, as well the benefits of a modern city.
