The Beijing Spectrometer Experiment (BESIII) Collaboration welcomed two new members at the summer collaboration meeting held from June 27 to July 1 at the Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP).
More than 100 participants from universities and research institutes in home and abroad attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Yuan Changzheng, the BESIII spokesperson.
The two new member institutions are the University of Lahore from Pakistan and Liaoning Normal University from China. Till now, the BESIII Collaboration consisted of 66 institutions from 14 countries.
The attendees listened to and reviewed the reports covering BEPCII and BESIII current status, progress in hardware, software, and physics analysis. A tentative data taking plan for the next run was also proposed after analyzing the needs from each physics team. Adjustments were made on the management structure and the staff of the Collaboration.
The BESIII Physics and Software workshop will be held in September, 2018 at IHEP.
