CAS Vice President Zhan Wenlong came to IHEP and inspected ADS (Accelerator-driven Sub-system) construction on November 18th, 2015.

During his inspection, Zhan listened to the reports on ADS beam commissioning and installation. He was satisfied with the ADS progress made so far and encouraged the IHEP scientists to make further efforts to achieve greater progress.

ADS has been proposed as a tool generating electric power and as a tool producing transmutation of nuclear waste as well, which is an important direction of development for the future energy of advanced neutron spallation.
