The“BESIII Tau-charm Physics Studies” supported by the National Basic Research Program (973 Program) kicked Off on April 2, 2015.The experiment will be carried out by IHEP with Prof. SHEN Xiaoyan as its chief scientist.

The commissioning meeting was chaired by SHEN Xiaoyan. WANG Yifang, Director of IHEP, CHEN Gang, Associate Director of IHEP, WU Yueliang, Vice President of the University of CAS and Academicians ZHANG Zhaoxi, ZHAO Zhengguo attended the meeting.

At the meeting, SHEN Xiaoyan reported to the experts the BESIII tau-charm studies and the results achieved in the first phase of 973, she also introduced the tasks and the scientific goals of the current phase. Experts made valuable comments on the plans and put forward many suggestions.

The BESIII Tau-charm Physics Studies will rely upon the major science facilities at IHEP. The members of the team have been long involved in high energy physics experiments with rich experience and strong international competitiveness. The team will make joint effort and be confident to continue to keep our leading position in this field of frontier research by achieving more scientific results.
