The China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) offers neutron scattering to all qualified users. The proposal round of CSNS in the First half of 2022 is from February 2022 to June 2022, welcome users at home and abroad to submit applications online. All proposals will be critically reviewed for scientific merit by experts.
The deadline for this proposal round is December 24, 2021 (At 0’clock on Dec.25th the CSNS User Service System will close the application channel).
The deadline for this proposal round is August 2, 2021 (At 0’clock on Aug. 3rd, the application channel will be closed for the CSNS User Service System).
For this proposal round:
Applicants must submit proposal through the CSNS User Service System (https://user.csns.ihep.ac.cn/). And you must have an account to submit the proposal. The application background (purpose, significance, current status at home and abroad), experimental plan, expectations, experimental methods and estimated beamtime should be clarified in the proposal. All proposals will be reviewed by experts. Once your application has been scheduled, you will receive an email from the CSNS User Office. Please complete all of the access notification/registration online at https://user.csns.ihep.ac.cn/, to ensure that the experiment can be done on schedule. After the experiment, the experimental report and user satisfaction survey must be submitted within three months.
In the current call for proposals, the following instruments are offered to applicants.
1 General Purpose Powder Diffractor (GPPD)
Instrument scientist：Lunhua He
Please be aware that GPPD has completed the upgrade of stress test, and this round of proposal is mainly for stress study.
2 Multipurpose reflectometer (MR)
Instrument scientist: Tao Zhu
3 Small Angle Neutron Scatterometer (SANS)
Instrument scientist: Yubin Ke
4 Multi-Physics Instrument (MPI)
Instrument scientist: Wen Yin
Please be noted that the MPI is jointly built by China Spallation Neutron Source and Dongguan University Of Technology (DUT). So "CSNS channel" and "DUT channel" can be selected by public users and DUT related user, respectively.
The above neutron spectrometers are still in operation and we are still debugging and testing their performance. We need to have enough time to complete the spectrometer debugging and solve the problem. If you apply for this proposal round, you have agreed to help us complete the commissioning by using the spectrometer and providing feedback to ensure that these spectrometers can provide reliable machine time services in the future. If you have any questions before applying, please contact the Spectrometer Scientist.
CSNS was officially open to users in September 2018 and is currently in open round for the first half of 2022.
