Hosted by CSNS, the 2024 International Workshop on Magnetic Crystallography (IWMC2024) was held in Dongguan on 25 November 2024. The 7-day event attracted more than 100 experts and scholars from 10 countries to share the latest research findings and future trends in the field of magnetic crystallography. Supported by the International Union of Crystallography (IUCr), the workshop marked the first time it was held in the Asian region.

The IWMC2024 focused on magnetic structure analysis, aiming to promote the development of magnetic structure research in the Asia-Pacific region and provide a platform for young scientists to learn about magnetic structure analysis methods. The microstructure of magnetic materials and its analytical methods not only expands people's understanding of the micro-magnetic world but also guides the development of next-generation magnetic storage devices. Senior scientists in magnetic crystallography were invited to this workshop, including the Chair of the IUCr Magnetic Structure Committee, developers of various analysis software and methods, and instrument scientists from the neutron sources.
