On March 4,2024, the target beam power of China spallation neutron source (CSNS) reached 160kW and realized stable beam supply operation, exceeding 60% of the design index.
In order to successfully improve the target beam power, the CSNS accelerator team deployed and completed a lot of machine research and physical simulation work in advance in the gap of the last round of device operation, and installed a new magnetic alloy loading cavity and momentum collimator during the Spring Festival shutdown. From February 18,2024, after two weeks of intense beam debugging, the beam power of CSNS accelerator reached 160kW, 20kW higher than the last round of operation.
In only two weeks beam debugging time, CSNS accelerator team efficiently completed the Spring Festival new equipment online debugging, and through the linear accelerator increase beam pulse width, fast circulation synchrotron working point, injection daub, beam instability inhibition, orbit correction, longitudinal dynamics iterative optimization, effectively control the high power under beam emission growth and loss, realize the stable operation of 160kW beam power, beam loss level is better than the last round of 140kW operation.
