The 4th Asia-Pacific Neutron Scattering Conference (AOCNS) was held on 4-8 December in Dongguan. More than 400 experts and scholars from more than 10 countries and regions attended the conference. The conference was organized by the Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Chen Hesheng, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, served as the chairman of the conference. Li Jun, vice Mayor of Dongguan, attended and delivered a speech.

AOCNS is the largest and most comprehensive academic event in neutron scattering science in the Asia-Pacific region, aiming to provide a platform for neutron scattering users or potential users in the region and other regions to exchange scientific research progress and achievements. The first meeting of AOCNS was held in 2011 every four years, and has been held for three times. The first three were held in Tsukuba, Japan, Sydney, Australia and Taiwan, China, the first to be held in Chinese mainland. The conference included five topics, including condensed matter physics, materials science and chemistry, soft matter and life sciences, engineering and industrial application, and basic physics / source / methods / technologies. More than 180 oral reports and more than 60 wall reports were arranged at this conference. Through 7 days of in-depth exchanges, the participating experts and scholars will integrate the development of applied science, open and sharing of facilities, and talent exchange and visits, so as to promote the development of international neutron scattering science, technology and application.
