The Standing Committee Meeting 2021 of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Joint Laboratory of Neutron Scattering Science and Technology (hereinafter referred to as the "Laboratory") was held both online and offline on 9th July.
Representatives from CSNS, Dongguan University of Technology, City University of Hong Kong and University of Macau attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Prof. LIANG Tianjiao, executive director of the Laboratory.
LIANG first gave a brief introduction of the proposal applications and reported the results of expert reviews. After a deliberation on these proposals, the committee agreed on funding 16 proposals out of 52. These proposals included basic and applied research focusing on the multi-disciplinary application of neutron scattering and key technology R&D.
Prof. CHEN Hesheng, director of the Laboratory, introduced its recent progress as well as the CSNS project. He mentioned that the CSNS phase-II project is under preparation, and the new project will provide a powerful scientific research platform for more disciplines after completion. He also advocated users to pay attention to the multi-physics instrument, which has passed the process test in March and will soon be put into use.
