Recent progresses have been made on CSNS’s first 500MHz/5-cell high-frequency cavity for the preliminary research of the South Advanced Photon Source (SAPS) project. The results of the performance test and low-power joint commissioning showed that the major technical parameters have reached the international advanced level.
This kind of cavity is substantially applied in large-scale acceleraotr-based facilities like the synchrotron radiation sources. Thus it is a linchipin of the preliminary research of the SAPS project. The cavity will also be applied in the High Energy Photon Source project in Beijing.
