From October 17th to 18th, the 9th National Advanced Gas Detector Symposium was held in Dongguan. The workshop was hosted by the Spallation Neutron Source Science Center and was funded by the China Advanced Science and Technology Center. A total of 145 researchers from 27 units including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Spallation Neutron Source Science Center, University of Science and Technology of China, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Institute of High Energy of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Institute of Near Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Chinese Atomic Energy Institute attended the workshop. A total of 40 reports were arranged at the workshop, which introduced the latest domestic research progress and achievements as well as important international work and cutting-edge developments in the field of gas detectors and readout electronics. During the workshop, the participants also discussed and exchanged on the development of advanced gas detectors and their readout electronics, especially the application of gas detectors in large scale scientific facility like CSNS.
