On November 18th, the signing ceremony of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Guangdong Provincial Government on the "Joint Cooperation Agreement for the Construction of the International Technology Innovation Center in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area" was held in Guangzhou.

Li Xi, Secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee, Bai Chunli, President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Guangdong Province Governor Ma Xingrui  attended the meeting. At the meeting, a number of key cooperation projects were signed between CAS and Guangdong Government.

According to the cooperation agreement, the two parties will jointly strive to build a comprehensive national scientific center in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, including a world-class large-scale scientific facility cluster, a number of high-level scientific research institutions, a leading platform for technology transfer, as well as a Guangzhou-Shenzhen science and education park.

Wang Yifang, Director of the Institute of High Energy Physics, and Xiao Yafei, Mayor of Dongguan City, signed the "Cooperation Agreement on Building a Southern Synchrotron Radiation Facility". The two sides will jointly promote the planning and construction of the facility and provide important strategic support for building an international science and technology innovation center in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Chen Yanwei, deputy director of IHEP and director of the IHEP Dongguan Campus, also attended the signing ceremony.
