The first Scientific Program Committee Meeting (SPC-1) for Linac 2018 was successfully Held at CSNS from December 15 to December 16, 2017. 15 linac experts from the world-renowned institutions and universities attended the meeting. Prof. Fu Shinian, head of Division of Accelerator Technology and co-chair of the SPC-1 meeting, hosted the guests.

Prof. Fu gave a brief report of the China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS), and led a tour of the CSNS site for the guests. Prof. Yong Ho Chin, co-chair of SPC-1 meeting from Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA), hosted the meeting and introduced the tasks of the meeting. The participants were then separated in four working groups and had two-day discussions.

The purpose of the SPC-1 meeting is to select the candidate reports in LINAC 2018, which will be held at the campus in Institute of High Energy Physics in Beijing from September 16 to September 21, 2018.
