CAS Vice President Wang Enge Visits CSNS

June 20, 2017. The Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Dr. Wang Enge visited the China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) on June 20, accompanied by Mr. Yuan Baocheng, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province and Mr. Liang Weidong, Mayor of Dongguan City. CSNS project manager Chen Hesheng received the guests.

Chen Hesheng reported the basic information, the latest progress and the future application of the CSNS project to the guests. “It is undoubted that the CSNS, as a world-class comprehensive research base, will make great contributions to the scientific innovation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.”Said Chen Hesheng. 

Then, the guests took a tour around the CSNS campus.

After the tour, a discussion was held on the following topics: The application and operation of CSNS, as well as the cooperation with local government, enterprises and research institutions. Wang Enge was impressed by the successful progress. He stated that finishing the CSNS project is one of the main tasks in the coming year, and considering the needs of the strategic development of Guangdong Province should also be another important task for CSNS. He also wished CSNS more achievements in the future.

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area will include the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Macao Special Administrative Region, and nine cities in south China's Guangdong Province, namely Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Dongguan, Huizhou, Zhongshan, Foshan, Zhaoqing and Jiangmen.
