The high-resolution neutron diffractometer is developed by CSNS in collaboration with Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School. The diffractometer aims to reach a world-leading resolution of △d/d ≤ 0.05%, which allows us to detect tiny structural changes that significantly influence properties like superconductivity, colossal magnetoresistivity, multiferroicity, etc., or to solve complex crystal and magnetic structures in advanced functional materials such as energy storage materials, catalysts, small-molecular medicine, etc. The diffractometer also features a flexibility in tuning between high resolution and relatively high intensity, which broadens the scope of powder diffraction and enables the capability of tiny samples or short time-interval measurements.
