BRICS-STARS | BRICS-Synchrotron Technology and Application Research School (Beijing , July 19-26, 2026)
High Energy Photon Source (HEPS) is a 6GeV fourth generation synchrotron light source, open to global users in the second half of 2026. As a coming flagship light source, HEPS is an excellent platerform for international collaboration on synchrotron techniques and application.
Supported by Chinese Academy Science, HEPS will launch a BRICS-Synchrotron Technology and Application Research School (Beijing 2026)(BRICS-STARS)in July 2026. BRICS-STARS is dedicated to promote the synchrotron radiation development in BRICS countries. It will provide the lectures on X-ray methodology and application with beamline practice.
BRICS-STARS aims to bring together talented PhD students, Postdoctoral and young professionals to this cutting edge facility. The seven-day intensive program provides a unique opportunity for participants to learn latest developments in methodology and application in this world-class flagship light source, enhance their professional skills and broaden their perspectives. The school is expected to facilitate synchrotron X-ray methodologies and applications development in BRICS countries.

Hand-on practice
Beamline station Practical Operation(Beamline practice including hand-on expreriments in HEPS feature beamlines to experience the power of high energy, high brightness and high coherence X-ray, experience the experiment and the data analysis.
Encouraged to bring your own samples to measure during hand-on practice, but need to submit the proposal by HEPS user proposal system before coming to China .
Tour and practice in Platform of Advanced Photon Source Technology (PAPS), adjacent to HEPS, a Accelerator and Beamline technology R&D facility.
