Hard X-ray coherent scattering beamline

The Hard X-ray Coherent Scattering (HXCS) beamline applies Coherent Diffractive Imaging (CDI) to reconstruct the static structure of matter and X-ray Photons Correlation Spectroscopy (XPCS) to study the nanometer scale dynamical in condensed material.

 

energy range 7-25keV; coherent flux >2×1011phs/s@12.4keV@200mA

 

Two CMPU17.9 are used as the  source, length of each CPMU is 2.1m, the brightness is about 5×1022ph/s/mm2/mrad2/0.1%bw at 12.4keV.

 

The main optics at beamline include white beam slit( water cooling, for reducing the most of power of cpmu), white beam mirror(horizontal reflection geometry, for reducing the power of DCM and rejecting high order harmonics), pseudo channel-cut DCM(horizontal reflection geometry and Liquid nitrogen cooling), CRLs(Be materials, imaging the source to secondary source), horizontal bent mirror(DCM thermal deformation correction), K-B mirror(for μm beam size focusing), secondary source aperture(for adjusting the coherent lenght at sample) and slits.

 

There are two experemental mode at the endstation, SAXS mode and WASX mode. In SAXS mode, the beam size is about 20μm, the max distance between detector and sample is 15m, connected by a vacuum flight tube; the detector is hybrid photon counting detectors, pixel size 75μm, the number of pixels is 16M, the max frames rates is 103 Hz, the max photons count rate is 107photons/pixels/s. in WAXS mode, the beam size is about 2μm, the max distance between detector and sample is 3m, the detector spans 0o-60o in vertical direction, -60o to 60o in horizontal direction; the detector is hybrid photon counting detectors, pixel size 75μm, the number of pixels is 1M, the max frames rates is 106 Hz, the max photons count rate is 107photons/pixels/s.

 

The sample stage is six dimensional adjustment stage, the max load >10kg, the stability and repeatability accuracy<0.1μm. Feed back with laser interferometer.

 

The endstaion will provide some basic sample environment for  in-situ study, including microfluidic Flow cell, Liquid Surface Chamber; temperature cell; LN2 Cryo and optical microscope.

 

The endstation will be equipped with local data storage(100TB) and dedicated data storage data centre, standard CDI and XPCS software, and high performance serve.
