Five-membered 1,3,4-oxadiazole (OZ) and 1,3,4-thiadiazole (TZ) heterocycles have high electron affinity, good coplanarity, and multiple heteroatom characteristics, which is the promising building block for n-channel polymeric semiconductors. On the basis of OZ and TZ moieties, two A1–D–A2–D type polymeric semiconductors (PNOZ and PNTZ) were developed. Moreover, a comparative study had been investigated to revea...

Recently, a research group from Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences has investigated the chromium uptake and translocation in the plant-AM fungi continuum. The results have been published in Environmental and Experimental Botany (2016, 122: 10–18) and Journal of Hazardous Materials (2016, 316: 34–42).

Mitochondrial ferritin (FtMt) is a mitochondrially localized protein possessing ferroxidase activity and the ability to store iron. FtMt overexpression in cultured cells protects against oxidative damage by sequestering redox-active, intracellular iron. Professor Chang and his collaborators (laboratory of molecular Iron metabolism of Hebei Normal University) found that acute exhaustive exercise significantly incre...

A cooperative study group of Central South University of Forestry and Central South University studied the crystal structure, intrinsic luminescence properties, Eu3+ / Dy3+ activated luminescence properties and color-tuning mechanism of euxenite type GdNbTiO6. The related research results were published on May 18, 2016 in RSC Advance.

A team from University of Jinan has investigated K-supported oxides (K/Al2O3, K/TiO2) for catalytic soot combustion. The catalytic activity and stability have been studied in detail. A strategy for balancing the activity and stability has been proposed aiming at the trade-off relationship between them. Their research has been published on Catalysis Today in 2016.

A team from national center for materials service safety of University of Science and Technology Beijing has gained insight into the structure and corrosion resistance of titanium passive film by AES, XPS, XAFS and electrochemical measurements. And their research has been published on July 20th, 2016 in ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces.
