A delegation from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, headed by Prof. Bundhit Eua-arporn, President of the University, visited the Institute of High Energy Physics on February 20th.
Prof. Wang Yifang, IHEP director, as well as other IHEP representatives, welcomed the guests and introduced the status of high energy research at IHEP. Prof. Cao Jun, IHEP assistant director, outlined the progress of Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO) and its international collaboration.
Prof. Eua-arporn expressed the full commitment of Chulalongkorn University to the JUNO project and his hope that the research capacity of faculty and students will be enhanced by joining the collaboration. Furthermore, both sides will strengthen cooperation and exchanges in electronic engineering, mechanical engineering and other fields.
After the meeting, the delegation visited the State Key Laboratory of Nuclear Detection and Nuclear Electronics, the photomultiplier tubes laboratory, liquid scintillator and acrylic sphere laboratory, BEPCII and the BESIII Experiment.
