At the critical phase of CSNS (China Spallation Neutron Source), CAS Vice President Zhan Wenlong paid an inspection tour to the project on November 25, 2015.

Chen Yuanbo, Associate Director of IHEP and Director of IHEP Dongguan Branch, reported to the Vice President on the most recent progress of CSNS. Now the project is just at its critical phase when all the installations and commissioning are being simultaneously pushed forward.

After the report, the Vice President had discussions and exchanges with the CSNS staff. He emphasized that while the project schedule is ensured, attention must be paid to the project quality with a view to the future acceptance. He hoped that CSNS make more efforts on applications, basic research should also contribute to the economy and technological transfer as well. At the end of the inspection tour, the Vice President had a site tour of the CSNS linac, storage ring and the target station.
