Seventeenth National Scientific Computing and Informationization Conference, sponsored by the Computer Technology Committee under the Chinese Institute of Electronics and organized by IHEP and INEST under CAS, was successfully held in Hefei from August 17 to 21, 2015. 

About 110 scholars from 34 institutions and enterprises attended the conference. This conference is held biannually, boasting the largest number of attendees this time with rich results. 82 talks were given at the conference, covering data taking in mega-science projects, data processing, grid computing, cloud computing, large data and so on. 

The conference included 58 papers, among which 6 were selected as excellent papers. For the first time, the conference introduced training courses which included open-stack cloud computing and cloud storage. 52 attendees had on-site operation, getting good results.    

A round-table meeting on science information was incorporated on August 20. 17 experts gave talks on information strategy and applications of information in space science, bio-science, nuclear safety and high energy physics. The attendees spoke highly of the courses and the talks arranged by the conference organizers.
