LIN Nianxiu, Vice Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), the People’s Republic of China inspected the China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) Project on May 22, 2015.

LIN Nianxiu had a tour of the CSNS construction site, and got acquainted with the project construction, installation and commissioning through a discussion meeting held on site. He listened to a report by CHEN Hesheng, Academician and Director of the CSNS Project and asked about the problems and difficulties existing in the construction.

In his remarks, the Vice Chairman spoke highly of the achievements made during the process of the project construction. He pointed out that CSNS is one of the significant scientific and technological facilities of the Twelfth Five Year Plan, constituting an essential platform for the research of mass structure which plays an important role in meeting the strategic needs of the country. He required all concerned to exert themselves to ensure the successful completion of the project on schedule. He also required that more attention should be paid to the investment benefits while emphasizing the scientific merits of the project. He hoped Guangdong Province and the city of Dongguan would continue to give support to the CSNS construction by policies and money instruments.

ZHANG Yaping, CAS Vice President, CAI Muling, Vice Chairman of the Guangdong NDRC and ZHANG Ke, Vice Mayor of Dong Guan accompanied the Vice Chairman in the inspection. LUO Xiaoan, CHEN Yuanbo and other IHEP and CSNS leaders also attended the activities.
