The kick-off meeting of the High Energy Photon Source Test Facility (HEPS-TF) was convened at IHEP on April 30th, 2015.
The Meeting was chaired by the HEPS-TF Project Director, QIN Qing. Prof. SUN Dong Bai, vice president of the University of Science and Technology Beijing and Members of the Project, IHEP directors attended the meeting.
At the meeting, WANG Yifang, Director of IHEP, congratulated on the approval of the HEPS-TF Project proposal. He said that the HEPS would be an essential project that concerns the future development of IHEP. He encouraged the young project team would finish studies of the critical technologies at an early date and master the keys to build the HEPS, the advanced light source of the highest luminosity in the world. He announced the establishment of the Project Management and its composition.
DONG Yuhui, associate director of HEPS-TF, introduced the project background and its progress. The Project was proposed in 2008 and was approved in 2015, taking about 7 years. The approval is a critical step for the construction of the new photon source. LUO Xiaoan, chief economist of HEPS-TF, introduced the project approval procedures, budget plans and regulations on budget management. Group leaders of the HEPS-TF Project irrespectively introduced their goals and tasks.
To conclude the meeting, QIN Qing made the summary remarks in which he expressed his thanks to the IHEP support over the past years and the efficient cooperation from the various IHEP departments. He commented that though the project goals and tasks are clear, there are many technical difficulties that would need the hard efforts of all to overcome. He also forwarded the congratulations from CHEN Senyu, the CAE academician.
