The 2015“POLAR Science Working Group” Workshop was successfully held at IHEP on April 17, 2015. More than 30 scientists from home and abroad attended the workshop.
Zhang Shuangnan, the chief scientist of POLAR Project, opened the workshop. In his remarks, he expressed the hope that members of the POLAR Science Working Group would continue to strengthen their collaboration with a view to increase contributions to the Project by the Chinese groups in POLAR Project.
At the workshop, scientists reported and discussed the POLAR progress and its performances. It is unanimously agreed that the POLAR Science Working Group has made excellent progress over the past year.
For the next step, efforts will be made to strengthen Monte Carlo simulation and theoretical studies, and to strengthen cross calibrations with Swift and other satellites to ensure science output of POLAR.
