WAN Gang, Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology, made an inspection tour to the ADS site at IHEP on April 2, 2015.

WAN Gang and his entourage toured IHEP Hall#1 and Hall#2 where ADS beam test and superconducting cavity measurement are located. PAN Weimin, the project director, introduced the test and measurement facilities, and the recent progress achieved.

WAN saw the 324.5MHz RFQ and its very complicated water cooling system that were independently developed by IHEP. He also visited the central control room, power source and the very low temperature refrigerating system. He showed great interest in the Spoke012 that was installed. He discussed with ZHAN Wenlong, CAS Vice President and the IHEP people about its design philosophy and the technologies applied.

ZHAN Wenong, Vice President of CAS, WANG Yifang, Director of IHEP and PAN Weimin, Deputy Director of IHEP accompanied WAN Gang and his entourage in the tour.
