Thomson Reuters, one of the world’s leading sources of intelligent information for businesses and professionals, has just generated a new list of Highly Cited Researchers in the sciences and social sciences – and Prof. ZHAO Yuliang, Prof. CHAI Zhifang and Prof. CHEN Chunying from the Institute of High Energy Physics are among the luminaries on the list.

“Highly Cited Researchers 2014 represents some of the world’s leading scientific minds. Over three thousand researchers earned the distinction by writing the greatest numbers of reports officially designated by Essential Science Indicators℠ as Highly Cited Papers—ranking among the top 1% most cited for their subject field and year of publication, earning them the mark of exceptional impact,” the Thomson Reuters website explains.

Differing from the Highly Cited Researchers 2001 list, the new list contains some 3,200 highly cited researchers in 21 fields of the sciences and social sciences, and reflects highly accomplished and influential researchers around the world. 162 scientists from China were selected for the list, of whom 43 were from the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
