Sino-French particle physicists explore future collaboration TEXT SIZE: A A A

The Seventh Workshop of the France China Particle Physics Laboratory (FCPPL) was held in Laboratoire de Physique Corpusculaire (LPC), France from April 8 to 10. The Sino-French physicists shared the latest results in the joint lab and discussed the future collaboration on the joint projects.

Over 125 physicists from China and France joined in the workshop and delivered 43 reports covering all the cooperative projects in the joint laboratory. A series of important research results in the frontiers of neutrino physics, LHC, astroparticle physics and cosmology, BEPCII related tau physics, techniques of future accelerators and detectors and computing technologies were published in the workshop. The FCPPL steering scientific committee reviewed the 25 joint projects in 2014 and launched a decision-making mechanism to arrange the supports for the joint projects.

The France China Particle Physics Laboratory (FCPPL) was established according to the agreement between CAS, CNRS and CEA in April 2007. The aim of the joint laboratory is to promote the cooperation between France and China in particle physics. Following its creation in 2007, cooperation programs have been set up and funded through this laboratory.

Chinese partners incudes IHEP, USTC and Chinese top universities. The French Partners includes laboratories and their host universities from CNRS/IN2P3 and CEA/Dapnia. Its joint research fields covers experimental physics at LHC, BESIII physics, theoretical physics, astroparticle physics and cosmology, techniques of future accelerators and detectors, computing technologies, electronics and sensors.
