Science and Technology Cooperation Award of the People’s Republic of China on January 18, 2013.

Following the 2011 Award for International Scientific Cooperation, Chinese Academy of Sciences and the 2012 Friendship Award of China, this was the third award that Kurokawa has won in China, in recognition of his great contributions and dedication to the collaboration on high energy physics and accelerators between the two countries.

On January 19, Kurokawa visited the Institute of High Energy Physics and had a pleasant party with his old friends from IHEP, Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics and universities.

The International Science and Technology Cooperation Award of the People’s Republic of China came into being in 1994 with the approval of the State Council. According to the Regulations on State Science and Technology Awards, this prize shall be conferred on no more than ten foreigners and foreign organizations each year that make important contributions to the development of China’s science and technology.
