Joint CSNS Advanced Material Laboratory established TEXT SIZE: A A A
——

The Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP) and Dongguan University of Technology (DGUT) set up a Joint CSNS Advanced Material Laboratory, which was announced on May 9, 2012 at the signing

both sides sign the cooperative agreement
ceremony of the joint lab. The cooperative agreement was signed by WANG Yifang, IHEP Director and LI Zhonghong, Deputy President of DGUT.

Following the Neutron Detection and Fast Electron Technology Lab and the Electromechanical Technnology R&D Lab, the CSNS Joint Advanced Material Laboratory is the third laboratory jointly built by IHEP and DGUT.

After the establishment of the Joint Advanced Material Lab, a series of research work has been carried out, including the R&D on materials for neutron shielding and collimation, key components for powder diffractometer, synthesis and characterization of nano-alloy materials, novel ceramics with negative thermal expansion and state-of-the-art magnetic functional materials.

By setting up the joint labs, both sides will join hands in optimizing the utilization of resources

and advantages, and it will become possible for the CSNS Project to use the space and facilities of DGUT. Eventually the cooperation in scientific research and talent training will help the university and the local enterprises as well.

WANG was invited to tour the university and to give a talk on the latest results from the Daya Bay Reactor Neutrino Experiment. He expressed his thanks for the support from the university and wished a fruitful cooperation in the future.
