The Feasibility Study Report of the China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) Project was approved by the National Development

and Reform Commission (NDRC) on February 24, which marks a milestone progress to CSNS.

Four reports (project proposal, feasibility study, preliminary design and finally project commencement) must be approved by NDRC before the kick-off of the CSNS civil construction. CSNS has made two critical steps forward by far, the preliminary design has been finished and is now being reviewed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

We have reason to believe that the construction will be able to start very soon, possibly within the year of 2011!
