The running experience on spallation neutron sources was exchanged and summarized at the Tenth International Workshop on Spallation Materials Technology (IWSMT), which occured from October 18 to 22 in Beijing. Present at the meeting were more than 70 representatives from both home and abroad.

The delegates introduced the current status and progress of the spallation neutron sources, and shared the running experience and suggestions with each other. The main topics discussed at the workshop covered radiation damage on materials, ADS materials, especially the compatibility of liquid metals with structural materials, target and moderator engineering, etc.

The meeting marks a significant milestone in this young and exciting field. It will, along the baseline of the previous meetings of this series, it provides an important forum for the relevant Chinese research programs - China Spallation Neutron Source and ADS project.
