35th meeting of the PRC / US joint committee on high energy physics held at IHEP
The 35th Meeting of the PRC/US Joint Committee on High Energy Physics took place from October 31 to November 1, 2014, at the Institute of High Energy Physics in Beijing, China. The Chinese delegation was led by Dr. XU Ruiming, Director-General of the Bureau of Frontier Sciences and Education, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The U.S. delegation was led by Dr. James Siegrist, Associate Director of the Office of Science for High Energy Physics, U.S. Department of Energy.
At the meeting, heads of both delegations gave their congratulations on the 35th anniversary of the collaboration and recalled the outstanding achievements made over the past thirty-five years. Other reports at the meeting included the BEPCII and BESIII experiment upgrades, SSRF status, the Daya Bay Experiment, the newly-launched P5 report for US particle physics research and programs at Fermi National Laboratory. After extended discussions, both sides agreed on the 35th PRC /US Cooperative Program in High Energy Physics for 2014-2015.
