Abstract: The speaker will discuss why and how to introduce momentum dissipation into the framework of the gauge-gravity duality with particular emphasis on the condensed matter applications. He will review the most relevant models and how to extract the thermoelectric conductivities within them. As a physical and interesting utilization he will present the recent developments about the possible existence of universal bounds on conductivities and diffusivities linked with quantum chaos.
