Call for Proposal
The China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) offers neutron scattering to all qualified users. The experimental period of CSNS in the second half of 2021 is from September 2021 to January 2022. All users at home and abroad are welcomed to submit applications online. All proposals will be critically reviewed for scientific merit by experts.
The deadline for this proposal round is August 2, 2021 (At 0’clock on Aug. 3rd, the application channel will be closed for the CSNS User Service System).
For this proposal round:
Applicants must submit proposal through the CSNS User Service System (https://user.csns.ihep.ac.cn/). And you must have an account to submit the proposal. The application background (purpose, significance, current status at home and abroad), experimental plan, expectations, experimental methods and estimated beamtime should be clarified in the proposal. All proposals will be reviewed by experts. Once your application has been scheduled, you will receive an email from the CSNS User Office. Please complete all of the access notification/registration online at https://user.csns.ihep.ac.cn/, to ensure that the experiment can be done on schedule. After the experiment, the experimental report and user satisfaction survey must be submitted within three months.
In the current call for proposals, the following instruments are offered to applicants.
1 General Purpose Powder Diffractor (GPPD)
Instrument scientist：Lunhua He
Please be aware that GPPD has completed the upgrade of stress test, and this round of proposal is mainly for stress study.
2 Multipurpose reflectometer (MR)
Instrument scientist: Tao Zhu
3 Small Angle Neutron Scatterometer (SANS)
Instrument scientist: Yubin Ke
4 Multi-Physics Instrument (MPI)
Instrument scientist: Wen Yin
Please be noted that the MPI is jointly built by China Spallation Neutron Source and Dongguan University Of Technology (DUT). So "CSNS channel" and "DUT channel" can be selected by public users and DUT related user, respectively.
In 2021, we need to have beam time to complete the commissioning and upgrade of instruments. If you apply for the beamtime, you have agreed to help us complete the commissioning and provide feedback to ensure better service in future. If you have any questions before applying, please contact the Beam Scientists.
The China spallation Neutron Source originated in September 2018 and was officially open to the public. CSNS is currently in open round for the First half of 2021.
